The wall painting has started and continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9.30 to lunchtime. Caroline will be there to help. On Friday 22nd August Sissy, Dan, Darren and Robert began blocking in the background to the mural. First, we sketched in the backdrop on the wall using charcoal, and we also made sure everything was in the right order. Secondly, we used a projector to make a paper stencil of the homestead which was then stuck on the wall so we could paint around it. Later, a plywood stencil will be cut out and placed over the top so the house in the background looks like a shadow. Next, we painted in the red sky for panels 17,18, including the "Sleeping Beauty" mountain range silhouette. Finally, we did the grey mountain backdrop for panels 1 and 2. We are having regular sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We start at 9.30 and continue until lunchtime. Everyone is welcome. Caroline and Robert will make sure you have everything you need to get going.
